LaGrange High School Cross Country 2005

The Boy's team returns 4 of the top 7 runners from the 2004 Region meet where the Grangers captured the 2nd place trophy as Region runner-ups and ran at the state championship. Returning from that team are senior Peter Lindstrom, juniors Marshall Evans and Tyler Davis, and sophomore Clayton Bryant. Evans, Bryant and Lindstrom were also on the all-county team in 2004. Other returning letter winners include juniors Adam Barnett, Jake Garrison, Jonathan Ford, and sophomore Alan Railey. Providing additional depth will be senior Ben North who ran for West GA last year and fellow seniors John Horton, Xavier Cox, Alex Bass, Daniel Owen, Matt Lewis, John Woody Major; juniors Tony Luong, Josh Kinder, Ethan Smith, Griff Parrish; and sophomores Rhett Davenport, Terry Boyd; and freshman Scott Breyfogle.The Girl's team returns 6 of their top 7 runners from last year's Region runner-up team and have the goal to return to the State Cross-Country Championship meet having qualified in five of the last six years.Returning from the region team are seniors Avery Livingston and Elizabeth Brown; juniors Emily Bryant, Susanna Brown, Jennifer Howser and Katy McCants, all returning letter winners. Freshman Lauren Altemari returns after a solid 2004 JV season. Newcomers Anna Jones, Jana Andrews, Charmaine Cleveland, Claire Nichols and Jordan McCants will add additional depth to the team. The LaGrange cross-country team competes in Region 2AAA for 2005. Teams in the region include cross-country power and Region champion Columbus, and other strong programs such as Northside-Columbus, Shaw & Troup along with Kendrick, Spencer, Jordan and Harris County.
